The Bedtime Story Race
5 – Star Reviews from Reader’s Favorite
“Author Shel Curry has done an amazing job at creating a fast-paced storyline that children will love. I liked that the author designed the characters to be relatable to real-life siblings, as most children are eager to show off new skills they have learned, especially to someone they look up to.” – Amy Louise Hill for Readers’ Favorite
“The author writes the story in both narrative and dialogue formats, creating a realistic perspective. Likewise, the captivating illustrations by Hatice Bayramoglu add another layer of authenticity and charm. The best feature, however, was the tools at the end of the book; the questions for young readers and sight word practice.” – Deborah Lloyd Hill for Readers’ Favorite
“This is a great way to encourage young readers to work hard at their growing reading skills and to cherish the precious family time spent together with a good book.” – Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers’ Favorite

I enjoyed every part of The Bedtime Story Race! As a mom of children who are similar ages in this story, I identified a lot with the storyline of the book and found the interaction between the siblings fun, heartwarming and authentic. My daughter wanted me to keep reading it over and over! She enjoyed the fun illustrations and kept pointing out the dinosaurs whenever she saw them. I thought the reading questions and sight word practice at the end were a fun extra touch and gave my 5 year old the idea to go back through the book and try to find the sight words that were on the list. Great story, great book, a must read for young children!

This is such a sweet story! I can feel the determination of Ethan to pick the bedtime story leap off the page. The exploration of sibling dynamics was really cool too — I remember a lot of these interactions growing up with my little brother but I wish I was as kind as Sophie, Ethan’s older sister, when I was younger. What a great book to explore what teamwork is with young children!

Thanks Emma 😊 so glad you enjoyed this book.

Reading together is one of my fondest memories from when my boys were young. The Bedtime Story Race brought me instantly back to the routine of teeth brushing, bath time, and choosing what book to read. I loved the competition mixed with affection conveyed between the siblings. Add this one to your reading shelf and make special memories with your kids.
Alyson Bowen –
Thank you Dede! I am sure that’s a very fond memory for your boys as well.

A great story to remind kids that competing with their siblings can be fun, but being together is what’s most important.
The story takes you through a host of age appropriate chores and tasks before bed, reinforcing and empowering little ones.
A wonderful reminder to use all these fantastic vocab words the kids are learning in school with the family. Great story to add to your home library!
