Dixie Metscher is a passionate homemaker and mother who adores anything French. She graduated from Roanoke College with a bachelor’s degree in French. After she spent three and a half months studying in Lyon, France, she wrote Thomas et la tarte aux pralines to share the magical experience she had with the traditional foods and atmosphere of Lyon’s Saint Antoine Quai.
Dixie wishes to inspire children to think about the world’s complexities. Objects can be called by more than one name and shopping for groceries often looks different depending on where you are in the world! This story offers a fun introduction to second language learning and exposes the reader to new ingredients and pastries! Especially, the traditional Lyonnaise tarte aux pralines!
